Mrs. Hotes is a teacher at Carl Sandburg Elementary. She teaches 4-6th grade special education. She has been a teacher for 20 years. She has been at Sandburg for 9 years. She always wanted to be a teacher. One of the colleges that Mrs. Hotes went to was the University of Washington. When Mrs. Hotes was ten years old her family moved to Alaska, where she grew up. Her favorite subject to teach is reading, because reading is important and you can learn many new things. For fun she likes to read, watch movies, cook, and volunteer with homeless organizations. She sometimes writes news stories for a local independent newspaper. Mrs. Hotes has a son and one pet, a dog named Scout.
